Mac Allister's father Carlos has refused to add to speculation over his son's future, saying "it's important to respect the club he's playing for".

The comments come after recent speculation linking the Argentinian midfielder with a switch to the Bernabeu. Reporting by Spanish site Fichjaes suggests Los Blancos have made Mac Allister one of their "priorities" in the summer transfer window. The World Cup winner is being tipped to follow Trent Alexander-Arnold to Madrid, with the English full-back having reportedly already agreed to join the Spanish giants on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The report goes on to suggest that Madrid could use Arda Guler as a makeweight in a potential deal for Mac Allister. Guler has struggled for game time this season. The talented Turkish winger has suffered with injury and stiff competition in the attacking third for Los Blancos.
